“WHEN GOD DOESN’T SEEM TO MAKE SENSE”

1. GOD IS STILL PRESENT IN OUR LIVES EVEN WHEN HE IS SILENT

     – Mistreatment of Joseph (Genesis 37-41)

     – Job was “blameless and upright; he feared God  and shunned  evil,” yet he felt abandoned by God. (Job 1-2)

     – Job defends himself (Job 31)

     – The Lord speaks (Job 38-41)

     – Job acknowledges the sovereignty of God (Job 42)

2. GOD’S TIMING IS PERFECT

     – Mary, Martha and Lazarus (John 11)

     – Jesus deliberately waited…to show the glory of God!

     – Bad things happen to good people, the wicked prosper…

Example of King Manasseh (2 Kings 21)

     – God does not have to explain Himself to man.

3. WE ARE INCREDIBLY PRECIOUS TO GOD

     – “What is man that you are mindful of him?” (Psalm 8:4)

     – Jesus willingly died on the cross for us. (Matthew 27:40)

     – The greatest display of love. (John 15:13)

     – Unbelievers are blinded to the glory of Jesus. (2 Cor. 4:4)

     CONCLUSION…

We need to keep trusting that God is working out all things for good and for His glory!
