 1. Introduction / What people believe about hell.

    – Some say hell doesn’t exist.

   – Some say only “bad” people go there.

2. What does the Bible say about heaven and hell?

    – Jesus taught about hell often.

   – Luke 16:19-31 tells about the rich man and Lazarus.

   – Lazarus died and went to heaven, a place of unspeakable joy.

   – The rich man died and went to hell, a place of torment and agony.

3. Our possessions.

    – Money is not the root of evil, but rather the love of it.

   – What is our attitude toward our possessions?

4. Angels carried Lazarus to Abraham’s side (Luke 16:22)

    – The Bible has a lot to say about angels.

   – We should not worship them.

   – People do not become angels at death.

   – The word ‘angel’ means ‘messenger.’

   – From angels, we learn about worship, service, and joy.

5. Hell

    – Everyone either goes to heaven or hell after this life.

   – There is no passage from one to the other. (Luke 16:26)

   – There are no second chances, no reincarnation. (Heb. 9:27)

   – A place of ‘blackest darkness’ (Jude 13),

     ‘everlasting destruction’ (2 Thess. 1:9),

‘weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ (Matt. 8:12)

   – It is eternal.

   – All will bow the knee one day to Jesus (Phil. 2:10) either willingly or reluctantly.

6. How can a person believe?

    – Through God’s Word. (Luke 16:29)

   – By knowing Jesus Christ. (John 3:16)

7. Conclusion

    – Our destiny is settled at death.

   – We have sufficient warning now.

   – Heaven is a place of unspeakable joy, hell is a place of torment and agony.

   – God is love and He is also just.

If you’re a believer, rejoice and tell others!

If you’re not a believer, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ!
