Weekly Meditations

MEDITATIONS FOR THE WEEK of July 26th

[Take some daily quiet time alone with God]

Monday: Meditate on Jeremiah 36.1-10; 2 Peter 1.20-21. God has spoken to man through words by the Holy Spirit. Take time to thank God for words and use them to glorify God and build up people (Ephesians 4.29).

Tuesday: Carefully read 2 Timothy 3.14-17. The Holy Spirit superintended the recording of Scripture for the good of mankind. Take time to ask God for a renewed love for His Word and read it carefully.

Wednesday: Ponder 1 Corinthians 12.12-13. This is the only doctrinal teaching on Baptism with the Holy Spirit of its seven occurrences in the NT. Its purpose is to join believers to the body of Christ. Take time to rejoice that you are Baptized with the Holy Spirit and that the Holy Spirit lives in you.

Thursday: Seriously Consider 1 John 2.15-17; 2.28-3.3; James 4.4-5. Is it really true that loving the world is that serious? Where is your love being placed?  Take time to pray for a deeper love for God and an understanding of what the Word of God means about loving the world.

Friday: Think about Revelation 2.1-7 Are you keeping up all appearances while grieving the Holy Spirit of God by having forsaken your first love? Time to get back to basics. Take time to praise God for His love for you and ask for a renewal of love for Him.
