Weekly Meditations

MEDITATIONS FOR THE WEEK  of January 23rd

[Take some daily quiet time alone with God]

Jesus the Good Shepherd

Monday: Meditate on Psalm 100. We are the sheep of God’s pasture. That is reason to worship and rejoice. Take time to rejoice that you belong to God.

Tuesday: Carefully read Isaiah 40.9-31. What power and yet see how He treats us in v11. Take time to praise God as the Good shepherd of your life.

Wednesday: Ponder John 10.1-18. Jesus is the Good Shepherd and we are sheep who once were lost. Take time to ask God for a deepening love for Jesus your good shepherd.

Thursday: Read Luke 5.27-32. It is the unrighteous whom Jesus seeks to save. Take time to ask God for a deeper understanding of your sin and the sin of the world that His salvation might be more precious to you.

Friday: Think of John 9. Here is a wonderful story of one man’s healing and salvation and how those who thought themselves righteous responded. This is still true today. Take time to worship God for saving you. Give him your full life as He reveals more of Himself to you.
